In this session, participants will learn to conduct network analysis using Gephi, a free, open-source desktop-based network analysis platform. Network analysis is the exploration and visual representation of the connections among entities in a dataset. Network visualizations often focus on social networks among people, which are typically represented as “nodes” and their connections, which are typically represented as “edges. The three most common network types are: Co-Occurrence Networks Nodes that appear in the same context Citation/Influence Networks How scholars reference or influence each other Correspondence Networks Record of who communicates with whom, how often, and when. No experience required. Free and open to the public.
