Beading 101

Date: Tuesdays, September 8, 15, and 22 Time: 6:00-7:30 p.m. Class designed for: Ages 18 and up Location: Jackson Avenue Center Storm Shelter Instructor: Timber Heard Price: $115 The class motto: “Until death, all defeat is psychological.” In this class, you will be making a beaded square. You will draw your own design and then bead it to learn the technique. As we bead, we will also discuss a global history of beading, covering topics and cultural groups such as the beading patterns of the Ndebele tribe, “reading” beads the Zulu way, Sunghir man, the origin of Rosary beads, Zardozi embroidery and more. All materials are provided.
